About This Data

This analysis is based on the brand colour presets used in the WOW Save My Money subscription tracker. Each brand in our preset library has a carefully chosen primary brand colour associated with it — typically the dominant colour from its logo or marketing identity.

To group similar colours together, each hex code is converted to the HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) colour model. Colours are then classified into families based on their hue angle (0–360°), with special buckets for very dark colours (Black/Dark), very light colours (White/Light), and low-saturation colours (Grey).

The dataset covers 189 subscription services across categories including streaming, music, gaming, software, telecoms, fitness, and more — representing a broad cross-section of the brands people pay for regularly.
